Denmark Deploys Special Commandos to Greenland Amid Trump's Takeover Threats
According to a report by Al Jazeera, 58 highly-trained Danish soldiers have arrived in the Arctic region. They are joining 60 troops already stationed there to participate in a multinational military exercise titled 'Operation Arctic Endurance.'
The Danish government has publicly expressed deep concern over the increasing U.S. military posturing in the region. Danish policymakers have repeatedly made it clear that "Greenland is not for sale." They warned that any attempt to seize the island by force would trigger the immediate end of the NATO military alliance.
President Trump’s persistent insistence on bringing Greenland under U.S. control has pushed diplomatic relations between the United States and European nations to their lowest point in decades. Although both the U.S. and Denmark are key members of the 32-nation NATO alliance, this dispute has plunged the future of the bloc into severe uncertainty. Geopolitical analysts view Denmark’s rapid troop deployment not merely as an exercise, but as a strong counter-message to protect its sovereignty against potential U.S. aggression.
