In a pointed letter sent to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Trump emphasized the necessity of American dominance over the Danish autonomous territory. Details of this sensational correspondence were revealed on Monday by the BBC and other international media outlets.

In the letter, Trump vented significant frustration directed at Norway. He noted that after Norway’s "decision not to award" him the Nobel Peace Prize, he no longer feels an "obligation to think only of peace." Instead, he stated he is now free to focus on what is best for the interests and security of the United States. Prime Minister Støre confirmed the receipt of the letter and noted that Trump directly questioned Denmark's historical ownership of Greenland.

Trump argued in his letter that claiming ownership of Greenland based on the arrival of a single boat hundreds of years ago is "illogical," claiming that American vessels had also reached the territory during that era. He further contended that Denmark lacks the capability to protect Greenland from global powers like Russia or China. Consequently, he insisted that in the interest of NATO and global security, Greenland should be handed over to the United States.

This controversial letter comes as a sharp rebuttal to a joint message previously sent by Prime Minister Støre and Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who had protested Trump’s policies regarding Greenland. This latest development has triggered fresh diplomatic and trade tensions between the United States and European nations.
