Reza Pahlavi Issues Open Call to US Over Iran Crisis
According to a BBC report, the exiled prince stated in an interview with Fox News that the people of Iran have been oppressed under a harsh regime for nearly five decades. He warned that policies of appeasement or negotiation with the current government would only place the Iranian people at greater risk.
According to Reza Pahlavi, there are numerous political and social forces both inside and outside Iran capable of leading a transition through a coordinated or "hybrid" system. He mentioned that should the regime fall, it would be possible to immediately initiate a transitional process by connecting with internal forces.
Earlier, at a press conference in Paris on June 23, 2025, he had also called upon the international community to stand by the Iranian people.
On the other hand, the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah has blamed the United States for long-term efforts to weaken Iran. The organization claims that since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Washington has attempted to destabilize Iran's internal security through political interference and economic sanctions.
It is noteworthy that nationwide protests have been ongoing in Iran since December 28. Sparked by currency devaluation and rising commodity prices, the movement has resulted in hundreds of deaths and thousands of arrests, according to human rights organizations. International concern over the situation continues to grow.
