Stock Market Update: Fluctuations Mark Wednesday’s Trading

Although the markets opened with a slight upward move, increased selling pressure soon pushed the primary indices downward as the session progressed. By 10:30 AM, the DSE had recorded a turnover of Tk 131 crore.

According to DSE sources, the market opened at 10:00 AM with a 7-point drop in the first five minutes, followed by a brief recovery of 8 points by 10:10 AM. However, this momentum did not last. By 10:30 AM, the DSEX index fell by 39 points to stand at 5,285 points. Meanwhile, the CSE’s main index, CASPI, initially dropped by 13 points to 15,099 before showing signs of a slight recovery.

Top Traded Companies (as of 10:30 AM): The companies leading the turnover list during the first hour of trading include City Bank, Dhaka Bank, Asiatic Laboratories, Orion Infusion, Khan Brothers, Summit Port, NBL, Intech Limited, Shinepukur Ceramics, and BRAC Bank.
