Gold Prices Hit Record High in Bangladesh: 22-Carat Gold Surges to 268,680 BDT per Bhori

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new pricing on Saturday night following an increase in the price of pure gold (Tejabi gold) in the local market. The revised rates are effective nationwide starting this Sunday.

According to the BAJUS announcement, 21-carat gold will now be sold at 256,433 BDT per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at 219,808 BDT. Additionally, the price for traditional (Sanatan) method gold has been set at 179,859 BDT per bhori. The notice specifically mentioned that a government-mandated 5% VAT and a minimum 6% labor charge set by BAJUS must be added to these selling prices, though labor costs may vary based on jewelry design and quality.

Silver prices have also surged in tandem with gold. From now on, 22-carat silver will trade at 6,998 BDT per bhori, 21-carat at 6,707 BDT, 18-carat at 5,715 BDT, and traditional method silver at 4,316 BDT.
