Stock Market Sees Dramatic Reversal on News of Governor's Exit
After being in the red for almost the entire session, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) bounced back into the green within the final 10 minutes of trading, fueled by a surge of investor optimism.
Market analysts observed that investors, who had long been demanding a change in the central bank's leadership, actively increased their buying orders as soon as the reshuffle news broke. Consequently, the benchmark DSE-X index rose by 12 points to close at 5,554. Although the index ended higher, the total turnover saw a dip, closing at BDT 565 crore. City Bank and BRAC Bank emerged as the most traded stocks of the day. A similar upward trend was also reflected in the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).
