Major Shake-up in Bangladesh Bank: 4 Directors Among 5 Top Officials Transferred

On Wednesday (February 25), an internal order was issued transferring five high-ranking officials, including four Directors and one Additional Director. Simultaneously, the previous transfer orders of three other officials, who were earlier issued show-cause notices, have been canceled.

Among the transfers, Director Md. Jobdul Islam has been moved to the Financial Institutions Inspection Department, while Md. Shahid Reza takes charge of Human Resources Department-1. Director Md. Bayezid Sarker has been posted to the Motijheel office as Acting Executive Director (Currency), and Gazi Md. Mahbubul Islam has been assigned to the Banking Regulations and Policy Department. Additionally, Additional Director Md. Kamrul Islam, previously at the Governor's office, has been transferred to the Sadarghat office. This administrative move is effective immediately.
