15 Chattogram Port Employees Transferred Amid Protests Against NCT Lease
According to the official directive, eight employees have been moved to Payra Port while seven were sent to Mongla Port. Notably, movement coordinators Md. Humayun Kabir and Md. Ibrahim Khokon are among those transferred. Previously, these employees had ignored transfer orders to Kamalpur and Pangaon, continuing their strike at Chattogram Port instead.
The workers have been observing an eight-hour daily work abstention since Saturday, causing significant disruptions in port operations. In response to the new transfer orders and the leasing decision, the ‘Chattogram Port Protection Committee’ has announced a continuous 24-hour strike starting Tuesday, vowing to intensify their movement until their demands are met.
