gold Hits Record High in Bangladesh, New Prices Effective Today
Previously, on 27 December 2025, the price of gold in Bangladesh had reached a maximum of Tk 227,856 per bhori. The new price list was announced in a BAJUS statement on Monday, 12 January, and will take effect from Tuesday, 13 January.
BAJUS stated that the increase is aligned with rising prices of pure gold in the international market. According to the global commodity tracking website GoldPrice.org, gold prices worldwide are on an upward trend, with the current rate exceeding USD 4,600 per ounce.
Under the new rates, the prices of gold per bhori are as follows:22-carat gold: Tk 232,055,21-carat gold: Tk 221,499,8-carat gold: Tk 189,890
Traditional (sonatan) gold: Tk 156,881
Silver prices have also been adjusted. The new rates for silver per bhori are:22-carat silver: Tk 5,949,21-carat silver: Tk 5,715, 18-carat silver: Tk 4,899
Traditional (sonatan) silver: Tk 3,674
The price adjustments reflect the rising costs in the global market and aim to align domestic prices with international trends.
